Keys boaters are reminded
that the Keys basin and channels
are no wake zones and that California
boating law requires speeds of
no more than 5mph in the vicinity
of docks with boats. Excessive
speed reduces margins for errors
in maneuvering. Wakes in confined
areas rub sides of moored boats,
chafe mooring lines and erode
embankments. Boat owners are liable
for damage caused.
