Keys
Association Annual meeting a great success
January 30, 2006
The 37th annual Keys Association meeting
held at the Four Points Sheraton was a rousing
success. Over 75 Association members were
present. The new president and board members
were installed, and the venturakeys.org website
was announced. The allowed number of boardmembers
was expanded to 18, by unanimous vote of the
Association members present, and four new
board members were installed.
Special thanks to Immediate Past President
Gail Lansbury, for arranging the venue and
laying the foundation for the meeting's success,
and to Vice President Stan Friedman for standing
in for Gail who could not attend, and to Board
member Frank McCallick for arranging a presentation
by the Port District and Harbor Patrol. A
general thanks to all the old and new boardmembers
who have and will give so much of their time
to the Association and to the membership at
large for their participation.
Incoming Association President Clif Simonson
presented Gail Lansbury's husband Bruce a
plaque honoring Gail for her leadership over
the past two years, and also recognized Maria
Angell for her efforts in raising the funds
for the playground structures at the big and
little beaches.
During a question and answer session, numerous
matters were raised including having a general
meeting twice a year and the latest news on
the Sonderman Ring Harbor Development. The
board will discuss these and other items in
its next closed session. A full text of the
meeting's minutes will be posted on venturakeys.org
in the next few weeks. |
